Make Sure It's Your Work

According to McKinsey, over 77% of companies are now using AI in some part of their operations, but too often without clear oversight or understanding of the risks. Similarly, more than half of students are using AI for their class work but too many lack guidance or clear delineation of what is and isn't ok...
AI-assisted work is the future (and the present) but we must continue to push for all of it to be ethical work. It can seem like AI has all the answers, especially to new and inexperienced users. And often, what AI produces can feel polished enough to seem finished. But untouched, direct output from AI should never be passed off as final work. It's simply not ethical.
We must hold our students to the standard of still doing most of the work, when employing AI. Let's help them see that AI is never a substitute for their own thinking because AI could unintentionally reinforce bias, invade privacy, or damage trust unless YOU always edit and finalize it's output.
At AI Human Ethics, we are developing case studies to get this conversation started. We are building an AI code of human ethics. Our goal is to show students and professionals alike that ethics and integrity are required when using AI. Let's help the next generation of leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs set the right example of how to use AI ethically.
